Family Heirloom Sessions

Families grow in a blink, so the feeling of your home, the way your people move, laugh, and love—deserves a place to live forever. Family Sessions are slow, sentimental, and rooted in documentary storytelling. No stiff poses. No staged props and backdrops. Just your family as you are right now.

Together, we can use photography to fill in the gaps where memory fails.

Family Sessions are perfect for:

  • Families who want honest, connection-centered images

  • Capturing multi-generational groups

  • Appreciating the pillars in your family

  • Parents who don’t want to pose or stress

  • Memories inside your home, your favorite places, or your family tradition

My Approach

I don't expect your loved ones to be "camera trained" on arrival. I ask questions, get on their level, and eventually become an observer. I’ll guide when you need it, but most of your session is spent simply being together.

I look for the moments you don’t realize you’re giving: comfort, joy, chaos, all of it.

Gift your loved one a
Legacy Session

Legacy Sessions are centered around the places, routines, and roles that have shaped a family over time.

These sessions are not about posing or perfection. They’re about documenting the spaces people built, the work they’re known for, and the quiet moments that define who they are within their family.

Whether it’s a parent, grandparent, or chosen family member, Legacy Sessions are designed to honor the people who hold everything together.

My Why:

In 2019, I received my first professional camera and wanted to photograph everything. This included my grandparents in the house my Pop built, and the fields he farmed all his life.

I didn't know it then, but he would soon be diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and this would be the last photo I would have where he could confidently recall my name.

We so often take time and the ones we love for granted. I would give anything to have one more picture of him tinkering on his antique tractor or looking out the window at "his deer."

This is why Legacy Sessions exist:

To honor the rocks in our family and have something tangible that memory can't fade.

Meaningful ways to document a
legacy
session

  • At a childhood or long-time home:
The house where birthdays were celebrated, holidays were hosted, or generations gathered. These spaces often hold the strongest emotional connection.

  • At a business they built or worked in for years:
Family shops, farms, offices, or studios that represent decades of dedication and sacrifice.

  • Doing the work they’re known for:
Cooking family recipes, working in the garden, fixing things in the garage, building furniture, or caring for animals.

  • Sharing time with the people they love most:
Playing with grandkids, sitting at the kitchen table, walking the land, or simply being present with family.

  • Practicing a lifelong hobby or craft:
Sewing, woodworking, fishing, music, tinkering, or any hands-on skill passed down through generations.

  • In everyday routines:
Morning coffee, evening porch time, Sunday meals, or daily rhythms that feel ordinary now but won’t always be.

  • In spaces tied to family tradition:
Church, community centers, land that’s been in the family, or places where milestones have been celebrated.
